6ix9ine Returns With a New Look
Returning to Instagram on Thursday night (Aug. 15), Tekashi broke his social media silence. The Brooklyn, N.Y. rapper posted a single clip showcasing him in the studio, giving fans a preview of his upcoming music. However, the most noticeable change is his switch from multicolored cornrows to a blonde low cut, as well as a slimmer appearance.
The video depicts 6ix9ine, wearing an ankle monitor, taking a swig of Don Julio before rapping along to his new track.
“You know I get you what you want but just don’t post me on you ‘Gram/B**ch, I’m doing what I want, you ni**as doing what you can,” he raps with the help of Autotune. “Ni**as talking crazy ’bout me, when they see me they be fans/That sh*t crazy how you do though, I could never understand.”
The second part of the post features a selfie video of 6ix9ine with the new track playing in the background. In a third clip, Tekashi is seen in a dimly lit room grooving to a Latin rhythm. The final two posts display scantily clad women.
Where Has 6ix9ine Been?
After being attacked in a South Florida LA Fitness restroom last March, 6ix9ine appeared to have taken a Caribbean vacation and was frequently seen outside the country. However, Tekashi’s fortunes took a turn last summer. He was arrested in Florida in August for missing a court appearance. In October, he was detained in the Dominican Republic for allegedly assaulting two producers. Then, in January, he faced a second arrest in the Dominican Republic for alleged domestic violence.
Additionally, he has been grappling with financial problems. In the past month, the IRS auctioned off his Bentley and Lamborghini to settle a lawsuit judgment.
