Transitioning into the world of electronic music during the French touch movement, DJ Mehdi brought a unique fusion of hip hop and electronic sounds to the forefront, shaping his signature production style.
The Legacy Lives On
A close friend of Ed Banger records founder Busy P, DJ Mehdi released much of his music through the label. Among his most renowned tracks are ‘Signature’, ‘Lucky Boy’, and ‘Pocket Piano’. Tragically, the beloved producer passed away in 2011 at the young age of 34, leaving a void in the music world.

In 2022, Busy P unveiled unheard music by DJ Mehdi, showcasing recordings from a session dating back to 2001. Describing DJ Mehdi as a “revolution”, the label head highlighted the lasting influence of the late artist.
