After captivating audiences with performances of both Joy Division and New Order’s Substance live in 2024, Peter Hook & The Light will be embarking on a new tour in 2025 focusing on New Order’s Get Ready.
The tour, led by the former Joy Division/New Order bassist, will kick off on May 22 in Montreal and is scheduled to run through June 14 in Miami, covering a total of 13 dates. Along with playing Get Ready in its entirety, each show will also include classics from Hook’s previous musical endeavors.
“Get Ready was a honeymoon record,” Hook expressed in a statement regarding revisiting the 2001 album. “Looking back now, it was very enjoyable to make, and I believe it is massively underrated. It helped distinguish the quality from the mediocre and paved the way for a more mature New Order version.”
However, Hook acknowledged that challenges arose when he and New Order bandmate Bernard Sumner attempted to bring Get Ready to the stage. “Unfortunately, the old issues resurfaced during our live performances. It was clear that changes were needed,” Hook added.
“We put a lot of effort into making this album great, and I believe we succeeded. I am excited to perform all the tracks, many of which have never been played live before. The Light will shine through… Get Ready!”
