Lil Durk is allegedly connected to the murder of a Chicago man in 2022 as per a recently unsealed indictment.
Lil Durk Linked to 2022 Murder
Lil Durk, also known as Durkio, seems to be facing more legal issues. The Chicago Tribute reported that an indictment, unsealed on December 11, links Durk to the murder of Stephon Mack. Mack was shot and killed after leaving the Youth Peace Center in Chicago on January 27, 2022. Authorities suspect that Mack was the leader of the Smashville faction of the Gangster Disciples, potentially involved in the 2021 killing of Durk’s brother, Derrick “OTF DThang” Banks. However, Durk has not been charged in relation to the Chicago crime.
The indictment, originally filed in April 2023, was unsealed this week. It reveals that Durk, born Durk Banks, continued to offer rewards for those responsible for his brother’s death.
In April 2023, a federal agent stated, “Lil Durk was and still is offering money for people to kill those responsible for his brother’s murder, and more specifically, offering to pay money for any Gangster Disciple that is killed.”
The unsealed indictment comes just before Durk’s detention hearing for his murder-for-hire case scheduled for December 16. He is accused of orchestrating the attempted murder of rival rapper Quando Rondo in August 2022. The prosecution claims that Durk hired five individuals to seek revenge for the death of his artist, King Von, who was fatally shot by a Quando associate following a confrontation outside an Atlanta hookah lounge in 2020.
