Beloved Brooklyn Venue Paragon Announces Closure

Brooklyn’s iconic Paragon venue has announced that it will be closing its doors in April, much to the dismay of its loyal patrons. In a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram on January 22, the team behind the 500sqft space expressed their deep sadness at the decision to shut down Paragon in its current form.

A Farewell Message from Paragon

“After almost three years of running a venue with some of the world’s best people, we simply cannot afford the financial reality of this industry in 2025 and will be closing our doors this April,” the statement reads. The team extended their gratitude to the community for the memories and friendships forged within Paragon’s walls, as well as to the talented artists who graced the venue with their magic.

They also took a moment to acknowledge the dedication of their coworkers, who went above and beyond to make dreams come true for both staff and guests alike.

The Legacy of Paragon

Paragon first opened its doors in early 2022, thanks to the vision of Bossa Nova Civic Club founder John Barclay. The venue later transformed briefly into the invite-only concept Venus in Furs, attracting a myriad of local promoters, including the renowned Dweller festival.

Over the years, Paragon became a central hub of Brooklyn’s underground nightlife scene, hosting an impressive lineup of artists such as Nick León, RP Boo, Nikki Nair, Kevin Saunderson, Josey Rebelle, Rosa Pistola, Goldie, and many more.

Reflections on Paragon’s Closure

The impending closure of Paragon has elicited emotional responses from electronic artists, with Cakes Da Killa and River Moon expressing their sadness over the venue’s fate on social media.

In response to the announcement, the Paragon team revealed that the Broadway-based space is now up for sale, inviting potential buyers or investors to explore this opportunity.

Electronic artist Jubilee even suggested that one of their fellow DJs should consider investing in Paragon to preserve its legacy and significance within the music community.
