MJ Lenderman Delivers Unplugged Performance at NPR Offices

MJ Lenderman recently graced the NPR offices with an unplugged and relaxed performance as part of the Tiny Desk concert series. The talented musician from Asheville, North Carolina, along with his band, the Wind, treated the audience to a set of four songs, three of which were from his acclaimed 2024 album, Manning Fireworks. This album was ranked number three on Rolling Stone’s list of the best albums of the previous year. For this intimate performance, Lenderman and the Wind opted for acoustic instruments, giving the set a more laid-back vibe reminiscent of the sound of Manning Fireworks.

Setlist Highlights and Tour Announcements

The performance opened with two tracks from Manning Fireworks, “Wristwatch” and “Rip Torn,” followed by a rare gem from Lenderman’s 2021 album, Ghost of Your Guitar Solo, titled “Catholic Priest.” The set concluded with another fan favorite from Manning Fireworks, “You Don’t Know the Shape I’m In.”
