ABBA Demands Trump Stop Using Their Music

Published:

ABBA has taken a stand against former President Donald Trump using their music during his campaign events. The Guardian reported that Trump played ABBA’s popular hits like “Money, Money, Money,” “The Winner Takes It All,” and “Dancing Queen” at a campaign stop in St Cloud, Minnesota. Not stopping there, Trump’s campaign also featured film footage of ABBA on a video screen, encouraging supporters to donate to his cause.

A spokesperson for Universal Music revealed that ABBA did not authorize Trump to use their songs at his rally, and demanded that any footage from the event be removed. “Together with the members of ABBA, we have discovered unauthorized use of ABBA’s music/videos at Trump events, and we have requested that such use be immediately taken down,” the spokesperson stated.

The other members of ABBA have not publicly commented on the situation, making ABBA the latest music artist to object to Trump using their music on the campaign trail. Beyonce and Celine Dion have also previously denied Trump the use of their songs at his events.
