Fans of Adele may be disappointed to hear that the singer will not be releasing a new album anytime soon. In a recent TikTok video captured by user @paolatravell, Adele announced during her concert in Munich, Germany on Aug. 31 that she will be taking a break from music.
During her speech, Adele expressed her enjoyment of performing but mentioned that it has been three years, the longest she has ever performed, and likely the longest she will ever do. She also informed the crowd that she has 10 shows remaining in her Las Vegas residency, after which she will be taking a hiatus from the public eye.
“But after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time and I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break,” Adele shared with the audience.
Despite her upcoming break, Adele revealed that she will still “fantasize” about her time on stage. When asked about the reason for her hiatus, Adele simply stated, “I just need a rest.”
“I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now. I want to live my life that I’ve been building, and I will miss you terribly,” Adele continued.
News of Adele’s break comes after she announced her engagement to partner Rich Paul. Her last album, “30,” was released in 2021 and featured the chart-topping hit “Easy on Me,” which spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album also included the top 5 hit “Oh My God.”
