In the star-studded film “Deadpool & Wolverine,” designed to be a crowd-pleaser, it’s impressive how Rob Delaney’s character, Peter, stands out among the plethora of big-name appearances. We were introduced to Peter in “Deadpool 2” when he attempted to join the X-Force, despite lacking any superpowers. The humor lies in his normalcy, and this theme continues in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” where he is portrayed as Wade Wilson’s friend and colleague. As the movie progresses, we see Peter in a new light, revealing an unexpected side of his character.

The film reaches its peak when Deadpool and Wolverine face a multitude of Deadpool variants from various corners of the multiverse. This includes a female Deadpool voiced by Ryan Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, and CowboyPool, marking Matthew McConaughey’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Deadpool alternates also feature Kidpool, a younger, more vulgar version of Wade Wilson from Earth-10330, and Headpool, a decapitated zombie head from Marvel’s Earth-2149.

Following the annihilation of the entire group by Deadpool and Wolverine, only to regenerate, the variants are halted by Peter, who appears in his own Deadpool attire. The group of variants, who all seem to recognize and adore their own version of Peter, are instantly pacified by his mere presence. Apart from a brief scene showing a reunion of Wade and his friends at the film’s conclusion, that’s pretty much all we see of Peter in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” However, it appears there was another scene featuring Peter that could have offered a slightly different conclusion to the film.

Interestingly, there are two deleted scenes from “Deadpool & Wolverine” featuring Peter. One is as distasteful as you can imagine, while the other is relatively light-hearted. Director Shawn Levy revealed two shots from a deleted scene on Instagram, showing Kidpool and Headpool hanging out with Peter at his apartment. This scene, which would have occurred after the final face-off, essentially forms an alternate ending to “Deadpool & Wolverine,” where the two Deadpool variants are so charmed by Peter that they follow him home and become his newfound friends.

Levy didn’t provide any context for the two shots, but he did caption the post “The sequel we need.” Could the next Marvel collaboration be a “Peter & Kidpool” movie or streaming series? Given that “Deadpool & Wolverine” has grossed over a billion dollars by essentially being a full-length Marvel comedy, it’s not unthinkable. It could be amusing to watch a “Big Daddy”-style comedy filled with expletives where Peter essentially has to play nanny to Kidpool.

For now, this deleted scene remains just that. However, with the success of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” there’s potential for more Deadpool and possibly Peter-related content in the near future.
