Bazooka Tango has announced the open beta for Shardbound, a captivating fantasy trading card game that offers Web3 rewards.
Players worldwide can now access Shardbound on Steam and the Epic Games Store. This release comes with exclusive rewards for over 100,000 pre-registered players, including a special set of playable cards: 1 Rare, 1 Epic, and 1 Legendary. These cards give players a significant advantage in creating their decks and dominating the battlefield, according to the company.
Along with the card distribution, Shardbound is introducing a partnership with Immutable’s Main Quest, the leading Web3 gaming rewards program. By completing quests, players can earn Gems that can be exchanged for IMX tokens, providing additional ways to enhance their gaming experience.
“The open beta of Shardbound marks a significant milestone for us and the eager players looking to join the action,” said Bo Daly, the cofounder of Bazooka Tango. “We’ve always aimed to develop games that are not only entertaining but also offer depth for those who seek it. This is just the beginning of our plans, and I am excited to witness how players engage with the game and make it their own.”
Stephan Sherman, Co-founder of Bazooka Tango, expressed, “We didn’t just want to create another card game. As we emphasized during development, ‘Every card tells a story.’ I genuinely hope that players will fall in love with the characters and rich lore we’ve meticulously crafted for the world of Shardbound.”
The company confirmed that more than 100,000 pre-registered players will receive a set of 1 Rare, 1 Epic, and 1 Legendary card, providing them with a head start on their journey and the chance to refine their strategies. These cards will be delivered through players’ Immutable Passport wallets or via email redemption codes.
Web3 rewards
Shardbound provides Web3 rewards for users who engage with blockchain wallets.
During the open beta phase, players who complete in-game quests can earn 100 Gems, which can be redeemed for IMX.
While players can enjoy the game without Web3, those who link their wallets and participate in the open beta are eligible for multiple non-fungible token (NFT) upgrades. These upgrades are tied to specific timeframes of participation, and missing a window may disqualify players from previous upgrades. The initial upgrade window is from October 9 to October 16, followed by subsequent upgrade opportunities through November 6.
Bazooka Tango is rolling out events, including the “Shard and Shield” PvP event where players can complete missions for exclusive rewards. New players have the chance to earn rewards for consecutive days played and explore special avenues to expand their collections through faction-based events. Additionally, daily login challenges, faction showdowns, and starter packs are available.
