Big Meech and his brother Terry Lee “Southwest T” Flenory were the leaders of the Black Mafia Family, a major drug trafficking organization that operated from the 1980s to the mid-2000s. Before their indictment in 2005, they also ran a rap label, supporting artists like Jeezy and Bleu Davinci, and building connections within the hip-hop community.

In 2005, the members of the organization were arrested in Atlanta. Meech and Tee were sentenced to 30 years in prison in 2008. Tee was released in 2020. The following year, 50 Cent released a TV series called BMF based on their lives and criminal activities.
