Exploring “Dual Destiny”

During a press briefing, Niantic revealed that the season’s name, Dual Destiny, symbolizes “opposites coming together to strengthen one another and celebrate two sides of a whole.” This theme sets the stage for exciting content to come, with the early introduction of Sinistea, a teacup Pokémon with two distinct types – Antique and Phony.

Meet Sinistea

Its Pokédex entry describes it as “The soul of someone who died alone possessed some leftover tea.” Sinistea evolves into Polteageist, where “The tea that composes Polteageist’s body has a distinct and enjoyable flavor, but drinking too much can be fatal.”

In Dual Destiny, players can look forward to Red and Blue-striped Basculin being Shiny-possible and available in 7km eggs. The form of Basculin obtained will be based on where the gift is hatched, adding a unique twist to the gameplay. Additionally, Gigantamax Lapras will debut in Max Battles, and avatar items inspired by Unova Elite Four member Grimsley will be featured in the Go Battle League.
