But mentally, Voight is still dealing with the trauma of losing Hayley Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) and facing his mortality. Sigan explains that Voight is in a more introspective state, reevaluating his life as he navigates the changes in his unit and within himself.

Sigan adds, “All the chemistry that’s been forged through our seasons is of course there, but anytime you add in new characters, it opens up the opportunity for closer bonds, new discoveries, and surprises for the audience.”
