“When we received the script, it described the kiss as ‘The world’s best kiss that anyone’s ever experienced in the history of history,’” revealed Kristen, referring to Joanne and Noah’s memorable kiss in episode two.
“The key was to focus on everything leading up to the kiss. The actual kiss itself was secondary. We needed to draw out every moment before the kiss, making it feel almost uncomfortable. Prolonged eye contact, lingering gazes at each other’s lips – it all added to the tension. And then, Adam did this gesture with his hand that I thought was brilliant. I suggested we make it a recurring motif,” Kristen shared.
Adam chimed in, “I believe that was actually in the script.” To which Kristen playfully responded, “Why not take credit for it?”
“When it comes to on-screen kissing, there are boundaries. You don’t just stick your tongue in your co-star’s mouth for no reason. I wanted the kiss to look genuine, like I was really going for it. So, I made sure to open my mouth wide,” explained Adam.
