Platforming Newcastle’s Creative Culture
Big Beat Manifesto aims to showcase the vibrant spirit of Newcastle’s creative community through the unique lens of nightlife photography. Featuring works from 20 local artists, the exhibition sheds light on the economic and political challenges faced by artists and event organizers in the region, emphasizing the importance of supporting local creative communities.

A Multifaceted Exploration of Nightlife
‘Sounds of the North East’ covers a wide range of creative outlets within the nightlife scene, including photography, videography, art, and music.
The Launch Event
The exhibition’s launch event is scheduled for October 4 from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM, offering a glimpse into the local nightlife scene. The NCA Gallery space will be transformed into a nightclub for the occasion, featuring music from local collectives such as Shy Bairns, Music Sphere, Profound Sound, Granville Collective, and Interstellar Strut.
Attendees can also enjoy a specially-branded beer created in collaboration with local brewery Anarchy Brew.
