Marc Cherry, the creative mind behind “Desperate Housewives,” is considering the possibility of revisiting Wisteria Lane in a different timeframe.
During an interview with People magazine, Cherry discussed the concept of a prequel for the successful ABC series that starred Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Eva Longoria.
“The character I miss writing the most is actually Wisteria Lane. It was the most enjoyable playground in the history of television because we owned the entire street,” Cherry mentioned to the magazine, hinting at a possible exploration of the street in a different decade. “I know that street like the back of my hand… I often wonder if I could write Wisteria Lane in, say, 1966.”

However, Cherry emphasized that he would only consider a reboot if there’s still relevant content to cover. “You need to have a compelling artistic motive to launch a reboot,” he clarified. “At some point, I’ll meet with someone and discuss if there’s a strong enough ‘why’ to do it.”
“Desperate Housewives” narrates the lives of four women — Susan Mayer (Hatcher), Lynette Scavo (Huffman), Bree Van de Kamp (Cross), and Gabrielle Solis (Longoria) — as they unveil disturbing secrets in their seemingly peaceful suburban neighborhood following the suicide of their friend and neighbor, Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong). The comedic drama series aired from 2004 to 2012 on ABC, earning seven Primetime Emmys and three Golden Globe awards.
