Diddy Denied Bond in Criminal Case

Appearing in federal court in New York City on Wednesday (Nov. 27) for his fourth bond hearing, Diddy is seeking freedom ahead of his trial for charges including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation for prostitution. United States District Judge Arun Subramanian rejected Diddy’s bail request after considering arguments from both sides, as per court documents from XXL.

“The Court finds that the government has shown by clear and convincing evidence that no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably assure the safety of the community,” the court ruling states. The judge cited Diddy’s history of violence and the risk of witness tampering. Subramanian also noted evidence of Diddy violating prison rules by using third parties to contact unauthorized individuals.

Despite efforts from Diddy and his legal team, including a $50 million bail package offer that was declined, he remains in custody pending trial.

Diddy Case Heats Up

Recent developments leading up to the hearing involved accusations from both the defense and prosecution. The government claimed Diddy used his phone privileges to contact potential witnesses and orchestrated a social media campaign through family members to influence jurors. In response, Diddy’s lawyers accused the prosecution of presenting an edited version of a 2016 assault video to portray him in a negative light.

Accused of various offenses including abuse, coercion, and leading a racketeering conspiracy, Diddy will stay at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center until his trial scheduled for May 5, 2025.
