Fast & Furious Fans Face Frustration on February 12

Published:

February 12 will be a disappointing day for Fast & Furious fans who are also Netflix subscribers. The Netflix streaming service is set to remove five films from the $7 billion blockbuster franchise on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The departing movies include The Fast and the Furious (2001), 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast Five (2011), and Fast & Furious 6 (2013). Although two of these films will shift to another streaming platform shortly after, the fragmentation of the franchise across different services may make it challenging for fans to access the entire series.

On February 15, 2025, NBC Universal’s streaming platform, Peacock, will welcome four Fast & Furious movies, two of which are transitioning from Netflix. These additions comprise Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7 (2015), and the franchise’s sole spin-off, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019). These titles will join F9: The Fast Saga (2021) and Fast X (2023), already available on Peacock. Despite these additions, only slightly over half of the entire Fast & Furious franchise will be accessible on the platform.

Where to Stream Every Fast & Furious Movie in 2025

While fans might expect all eleven films to be on Peacock, contractual agreements and licensing issues prevent Universal from housing the entire franchise on the platform consistently. These complex deals have led to the dispersion of popular movie franchises across various streaming services, adding to the challenges of the current streaming landscape.

On February 15, 2025, Peacock will become the new home for six out of the eleven Fast & Furious movies. Specifically, the Hobbs & Shaw spin-off film featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham, alongside the 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, and 10th entries in the main franchise. The 4th movie, Fast & Furious (2009), will remain exclusive to the Max streaming service for now. This leaves the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 8th films without a designated streaming platform, although they can be rented or purchased digitally on various VOD services like Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Fandango at Home, and Google Play Movies & TV.

The Status on Fast X: Part 2

This Fast & Furious streaming development comes at a challenging time for fans due to the lack of updates on the release of the franchise’s anticipated grand finale, Fast X: Part 2. While the movie is currently slated for a March 2026 release, little progress has been made behind the scenes. Production on the final sequel faced delays caused by interference from main producer-star Vin Diesel, amidst personal controversies.

Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Sung Kang, Nathalie Emmanuel, Rita Moreno, Jordana Brewster, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, and Tyrese Gibson gather around for a family cookout while sipping on coronas in FAST X which is streaming on Peacock.
