Future is back in mixtape mode with the release of his latest project, Mixtape Pluto, just in time to close out the final days of summer.
Mixtape Future Returns with New Offering
After months of teasing, Future has finally delivered. On September 20, he dropped his new mixtape, Mixtape Pluto. This marks Future’s third project of 2024, featuring 17 songs with no guest appearances. The production on the mixtape includes contributions from frequent collaborators Southside and Wheezy Outta Here.
In May, Future initially hinted at a mixtape release, but it turned out to be a new single. Determined to deliver, he continued to work on the tape, culminating in the official release of Mixtape Pluto. The anticipation was further heightened with teasers from Travis Scott and a trailer from Future himself.
Following the conclusion of the We Trust You Tour with Metro Boomin, Future wasted no time in announcing the arrival of Mixtape Pluto. With a reveal of the cover art and merchandise on September 10, Future set the release date for September 20.
The cover art for Mixtape Pluto pays homage to The Dungeon studio, located in the basement of producer Rico Wade’s mother’s house in Atlanta. Rico Wade, a key figure in the music industry, inspired Future to pursue a career in rap. The cover serves as a tribute to Wade’s legacy.
Future Aims for Chart Success
With the release of Mixtape Pluto, Future is aiming to achieve a significant milestone. Having already secured two No. 1 albums in 2024, Future is looking to become the first rapper to top the Billboard 200 chart three times in a single year.
