Remembering Q Lazzarus
Q Lazzarus passed away in 2022 after a brief illness at the age of 61. She had been collaborating with filmmaker Aridjis Fuentes on a documentary called “Goodbye Horses: The Many Lives of Q Lazzarus,” and this new music collection coincides with their project.
“Goodbye Horses” gained fame through its appearance in two Jonathan Demme films: 1988’s “Married to the Mob” and, notably, 1991’s “The Silence of the Lambs,” where it underscored an unforgettable scene featuring the film’s antagonist, Buffalo Bill. Q Lazzarus first crossed paths with Demme while driving a cab in the 1980s, and she met Aridjis in a similar chance encounter when she was her New York driver in 2019.
