The Rock Hall-inducted rock trio’s The Saviors Tour will kick off at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on March 1, followed by Engie Stadium in Sydney on March 3, and concluding on March 5 at CBUS Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.

West Coast rockers AFI will be joining Green Day as support, marking their first performances in Australia since 2017.
“We’ve never been more excited to unleash new music than with Saviors, a record that’s meant to be rocked live, together,” reads a statement from Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool. “And we cannot wait to return to Australia, it’s been way too long. So let’s thrash.”

Green Day has always been warmly received in Australia. Earlier this year, Saviors debuted at No. 2 on the ARIA Chart, marking the rockers’ 12th top 10 album in the country. Three of their albums have topped the national chart: Dookie (1994), American Idiot (2004), and Father Of All Motherf—ers (2020).
The California band was scheduled to perform in Australia and New Zealand in 2020 as part of the Hella Mega Tour, alongside Fall Out Boy and Weezer. Unfortunately, the tour was canceled due to the pandemic. The Saviors Tour will be their first visit to these parts since 2017, in support of Revolution Radio.
Green Day’s Saviors Tour made headlines recently when their performance at Comerica Park in Detroit was briefly interrupted due to an unauthorized drone sighting near the stage. The band members were temporarily taken off stage but returned after 10 minutes.
