On Tuesday (Dec. 24), a video surfaced on social media showing a fight involving the Brooklyn rapper-actor from Monday (Dec. 23). In the clip, Joey and a man in a gray hoodie can be seen engaged in an intense conversation next to a display of hats. Although there is no sound in the video, Joey appears animated, gesturing and moving his arms around.
The footage switches to another angle, showing the ongoing confrontation. The verbal exchange escalates into physical violence, with Joey pulling the man’s hoodie over his head and delivering wild uppercuts. The owners of the store can be heard protesting in the background. The fight eventually moves to the ground before the video ends.
The reason for the altercation remains unclear. XXL has reached out to Joey Bada$$’ team for a statement.
This incident occurred just two days after Joey was honored by New York Mayor Eric Adams, who declared Dec. 20 as Joey Bada$$ Day.
