Gascón stated that new leads and additional evidence from the L.A. County Sheriff Department’s investigation are being assessed. Recent evidence has emerged within the last few weeks, prompting a thorough review before making any filing decisions.
The update comes two years after the completion of the 19-month investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department into Warner and the allegations of sexual abuse against him.
Gascón mentioned that a filing decision is expected soon, and updates will be provided accordingly. He expressed his intention to meet with the victims to discuss further support once a decision is made.
In August, Warner appealed a judge’s decision regarding his defamation and emotional distress lawsuit against Evan Rachel Wood, initiated more than two years ago. Wood publicly named Warner as her alleged abuser in February 2021.
Despite vehemently denying the allegations, Warner has been accused of abuse by over a dozen other women since then.
Bianca Kyne came forward in July, revealing her full identity and accusing Warner of grooming and sexually assaulting her multiple times in the Nineties when she was a minor.
Stay tuned for updates on this ongoing case as more information becomes available.
