Lego has announced an exciting lineup of six new Mario Kart sets, marking the first time Mario’s iconic racer will be immortalized in brick form. These sets are set to launch on New Year’s Day 2025 and are designed to bring the joy of the Super Mario universe to fans of all ages with interactive elements like audio and visual effects.
New Mario Kart Sets
The new sets, unveiled at Gamescom, feature popular characters from Mario Kart such as Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Toad, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, and Baby Peach. Please note that Lego Mario, Luigi, and Peach figures are not included and must be purchased separately.
Set Details
The six sets include a Yoshi Bike, a Standard Kart, Donkey Kong and DK Jumbo, Baby Mario vs. Baby Luigi, and Toad’s Garage, ranging from 133 to 390 pieces. The largest set, Baby Peach and the Grand Prix set, consists of 823 pieces and allows you to build your very own starting gate, along with featuring characters like Lemmy and Toad in their respective karts.
New Lego Animal Crossing Sets
In addition to the Mario Kart sets, Lego has also announced three new Animal Crossing sets: Stargazing with Celeste, Leif’s Caravan and Garden Shop, and Able Sisters Clothing Shop. These sets will also be available starting January 1st, 2025.
Other Mario-Themed Lego Sets
Aside from the Mario Kart sets, Lego has revealed a 2D-style Super Mario World set featuring Mario and Yoshi, set to launch on October 1st. This set, consisting of 1215 pieces, adds to Lego’s adult-oriented Super Mario range, which includes impressive sets like the fold-out ? Block and Bowser statue.
