Lil Dicky and GaTa Perform Poolside Concert in Las Vegas

Lil Dicky shared plenty of personal thoughts — including those regarding his fire and his own desire — during his set at Ayu Dayclub in Las Vegas.

The star, aka Dave Burd, took the stage with frequent collaborator GaTa at a Saturday concert from the Resorts World venue to perform an array of his own crowd favorites and a couple covers. Lil Dicky and GaTa share a long history and appear together on the FX comedy series Dave, which offers a fictionalized version of the satirical rapper and is currently on hiatus after the season three finale aired last year.

Lil Dicky performed the poolside show in front of an enthusiastic Vegas crowd, singing such signature tunes as “Save Dat Money,” “Freaky Friday,” “Pillow Talking” and “Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.” Lil Dicky frequently interacted with the audience, which included his surprised reaction to a fan’s request that he reveal a certain body part. (In standard Vegas fashion, men were charged more for admission than female attendees.)

“I’ve never had a group of women chant ‘show your tits’ at me, but I love it,” Lil Dicky told the crowd. “Let’s take a poll: Who wants me to show my tits? Who wants me to show my dick? Who wants me to show my asshole?” Upon hearing the reactions, he replied, “Oh, my God — Vegas! I’m not going to show any of that — not yet. Can we build towards it? Can we create the right momentum?”

Lil Dicky performed a cover of the national anthem, which has been a live staple for him, and he also belted out a mostly a cappella version of Backstreet Boys‘ boy-band classic “I Want It That Way.”

“I was singing this song in the shower,” he explained to the audience while introducing the 1999 hit. “I have never sounded better singing in my entire life, and I thought, ‘I have to sing this for the people.’”

Lil Dicky opened his set with a heads-up: “I am not taking requests. Don’t ask me to sing a specific song. It will make me not play the song.”

He added, “I’m from Philadelphia, and I want you to know, there’s a Phillies playoff game happening right now, and I’m not watching to be with you. And I’m getting paid, so both of those things in tandem are why I’m here right now. I love you so much.” (The baseball team could have probably used the support, as they lost 6-2 to the New York Mets.)

In May, Lil Dicky performed at Seth Rogen’s Hollywood Bowl show that also included Snoop Dogg, Post Malone and Bill Burr as part of the Netflix Is a Joke festival.
