Christopher Ciccone, the younger brother of Madonna, has passed away at the age of 63.

Ciccone’s representative, Brad Taylor, confirmed the sad news to the Associated Press, revealing that Ciccone passed away on Friday in Michigan after battling cancer. People magazine reported that Ciccone passed away “peacefully” with his husband, Ray Thacker, by his side.
“My brother Christopher is no longer with us,” Madonna shared on social media on Sunday. “He was my closest companion for so many years. Our bond was unique, born out of the understanding that we were different and would face societal challenges for not conforming. We held hands and danced through the chaos of our upbringing.”
As the youngest of six Ciccone siblings, Christopher Ciccone worked closely with Madonna in the early stages of her career, even appearing as a backup dancer in music videos like “Everybody” and “Lucky Star.” He played various roles on Madonna’s tours, such as serving as an art director on the Ambition World Tour in 1990 and as a production designer and tour director on 1993’s The Girlie Show.

We experienced the highest highs and lowest lows together, always finding our way back to each other, dancing hand in hand.”
