Melissa Gorga, a prominent figure in the Real Housewives of New Jersey, is uncertain about her future in the show following the dramatic culmination of season 14 and the subsequent special episode aired after the finale.
During her guest appearance on the podcast Two Ts in a Pod, hosted by fellow Real Housewives stars Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge, Gorga was queried by Judge about her potential reaction if she was not invited back for the next season, but her sister-in-law and co-star Teresa Giudice was.
Judge asked Gorga if she was ready for such a possibility and if it was a matter of concern for her.
Gorga replied that she was prepared for any outcome given the numerous rumors circulating about her future on the show.
Gorga mentioned that if Bravo chose to favor Giudice over her, which she perceives as the “darker” choice, she would no longer wish to be a part of the show. While she expressed her desire to continue her journey with RHONJ, she was clear about not wanting to participate in a toxic environment.
Gorga added that as long as Giudice was a part of the show and the previous conflicts were to resurface, she wouldn’t find it enjoyable. Mellencamp asked Gorga if her decision would change if Giudice’s husband Luis Ruelas was not a part of the show, to which Gorga confirmed that she wouldn’t consider it a loss to leave. She also highlighted her 14-year association with the Bravo series, stating that one can’t be a part of a TV show indefinitely.
Despite this, Gorga reiterated her wish to remain a part of the show, expressing hope that Bravo would introduce something “fresh and new” in the future. However, she acknowledged the possibility of her not being included. If Bravo chooses not to retain her, she stated that she wouldn’t want to continue with the show.
The feud between Giudice and Gorga reached its zenith in the 14th season finale, with Giudice repeatedly hurling insults at her sister-in-law, reminiscent of her infamous confrontation with Danielle Staub in the first season. Instead of a traditional reunion special, the women returned to the finale’s location and were split into two groups based on their alliances with Giudice and Gorga. They watched the finale replay during a special episode that aired on August 11.
Cohen, during the post-finale Watch What Happens Live show, described the finale as having a sense of finality. However, he clarified on his SiriusXM radio show that no decisions had been made regarding a cast reshuffle for the upcoming 15th season. He assured that the show would be reimagined in some way.
