Oasis Reclaims U.K. No. 1 Album After 30 Years

Published:

Oasis’s iconic debut album Definitely Maybe has made a triumphant return to the top of the U.K. Official Albums Chart, marking 30 years since its initial release in 1994. This resurgence has brought Liam and Noel Gallagher, along with the rest of Oasis, back to the number one spot on the Official Albums Chart after a gap of 14 years.

The album’s return to the top spot was fueled by the release of its 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, featuring previously unreleased material such as the Monnow Valley sessions, Sawmills recordings outtakes, and an alternate demo of “Sad Song.”

With a remarkable 408% increase in sales from the previous week, over 50% of which came from vinyl sales, Definitely Maybe reclaimed its position at No. 1 on both the Official Albums Chart and the Official Vinyl Albums Chart.

In addition to Definitely Maybe, two other Oasis albums made their way into the Top 5: Time Flies…1994-2009 at No. 3 and (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? at No. 4.

This success coincides with the announcement of Oasis Live ‘25 reunion tour scheduled for 2025, where they will perform in major U.K. cities like Cardiff, Manchester, London, and Edinburgh. Due to high demand, extra dates at Wembley Stadium have already been added.

Despite Oasis’s resurgence, last week’s chart-topper, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet, has moved to No. 2 and continues to perform well. Meanwhile, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Wunderhorse secured Top 10 spots with their latest releases.

Palaye Royale claimed the No. 38 spot with their latest release, Death or Glory, on this week’s chart.
