OJ Da Juiceman’s Career Owed to Jadakiss

OJ Da Juiceman owes his career to Jadakiss for embracing him and making him pop in New York City – according to his former manager, Debra Antney.

Deb, a longtime artist manager whose roster has included her son Waka Flocka as well Gucci Mane, OJ and Nicki Minaj, appeared on DJ Self’s Apt. 5H podcast earlier this month where she discussed her former client’s claims that she owes him money.

While denying that she ever took a dime from OJ, Deb noted that he should blame himself for his downfall after failing to recognize that Jada helped make him famous by putting him on his 2009 song, “Who’s Real.”

“You made millions of dollars and didn’t last no time. You disrespected Jadakiss and that was like the end,” Deb said. “New York knocked you out. Georgia didn’t accept you. New York did! You fail to realize that. See people don’t tell all them stories, where they was accepted from. Everything is just Georgia but Georgia didn’t accept you. It was New York.”

She continued: “And you was accepted because this man believed in you more than anything. They may have known him because he was hanging put with Gucci, but his music was not out. The person that pushed him was Jadakiss. But Jay ain’t gon’ get the props. But that’s where it really came from. Jadakiss. He did it. That was his guy. He made it here in New York. He was broke here.”

Deb, who returned to managing Nicki Minaj earlier this year after over a decade apart, recently got into a spat with Nick for trying to squash her long-running beef with Lil Kim without her knowledge or permission.

In a recent interview on the Opiniated Truths podcast, Antney was asked if she would be willing to broker a truce between Nicki and her rivals Cardi B and Lil Kim.

“I think that we all would love to see that, but people would have to be willing to do that,” she answered. “To be perfectly honest with you — she’s gonna kill me for even saying this — but I did reach out to Kim.”

Antney then silently shook her head, implying that Kim was unreceptive to the request.

After catching wind of the clip, Nicki put Antney on blast for overstepping her boundaries and meddling in her affairs.

The pair reconciled days later, however, with Deb posting an apology and then joining the Queens rapper at her show.

OJ Da Juiceman’s rise to fame in New York City can be attributed to Jadakiss, as revealed by his former manager, Debra Antney. Deb, a seasoned artist manager with an impressive roster including Waka Flocka, Gucci Mane, OJ, and Nicki Minaj, shared insights on DJ Self’s Apt. 5H podcast regarding OJ’s claims of owed money. Despite denying any financial wrongdoing, Deb pointed out that OJ’s lack of recognition for Jadakiss’ role in his success led to his downfall after the release of “Who’s Real” in 2009.

Jadakiss: The Catalyst for OJ Da Juiceman’s Success

Deb emphasized the pivotal role Jadakiss played in OJ’s career, highlighting how the New York rapper’s support elevated OJ’s status in the music industry. She noted that OJ’s failure to acknowledge Jadakiss’ influence ultimately led to his decline, with New York City being the key to his initial success.

The Impact of Jadakiss’ Support

Deb elaborated on how Jadakiss believed in OJ’s talent and actively promoted him, despite OJ’s initial obscurity. While OJ may have been associated with Gucci Mane, it was Jadakiss who truly propelled his career forward. Deb emphasized that OJ’s breakthrough in New York was a result of Jadakiss’ unwavering support and mentorship.

Deb’s Reconciliation with Nicki Minaj

Following her return to managing Nicki Minaj after a decade-long hiatus, Deb found herself embroiled in a dispute with Nicki over her attempts to resolve the longstanding feud between Nicki and Lil Kim without Nicki’s consent. Despite reaching out to Lil Kim in an effort to broker peace, Deb faced resistance from the iconic rapper.

Nicki’s Reaction and Reconciliation

Nicki expressed her displeasure at Deb’s interference in her personal affairs, leading to a public disagreement between the two. However, they eventually reconciled, with Deb issuing an apology and standing by Nicki’s side at her subsequent show.
