According to a letter to Academy members acquired by THR, given a majority of the Academy members live in LA with many potentially being affected by the fires, they are extending the voting window to 5pm PT on Tuesday, January 14th. This is a two-day extension as it was originally to close on Sunday (January 12).
With this, the nominations were originally scheduled to be announced on Friday, January 17th, but will now be moved to Sunday, January 19th.
Other events hosted by the Academy in the coming days have also been canceled or postponed, among many other Hollywood events and productions.
The 2025 Oscars themselves, are not scheduled until March 10th on ABC with host Jimmy Kimmel.
