Here’s a brief synopsis of “The Chosen: Last Supper”: “The stage is set. The citizens of Israel hail Jesus as their king, while his disciples eagerly await his coronation. However, instead of challenging Rome, he disrupts the Jewish religious festival. With their power at stake, the country’s religious and political elites will resort to any means necessary to ensure this Passover feast is Jesus’ last.”

Dallas Jenkins, the creator and executive producer of ‘The Chosen,’ states, “I’m potentially more thrilled to bring Season 5 to the audience than any other season we’ve done. Regrettably, it’s not coming until March, but that’s because it’s an enormous season that demands a lot of work. However, I’m incredibly excited to offer this initial sneak peek of it with the poster and the teaser to our fans.”

Earlier this year, Jenkins unveiled 5&2 Studios and shared exclusively with Variety his plans to broaden the “The Chosen” universe with several innovative projects. These include the animated series “The Chosen Adventures,” a youthful interpretation of the Jesus story with voice talents like Paul Walter Hauser (“Black Bird”) and Yvonne Orji (“Insecure”). Also in the pipeline is “The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls,” a six-part adventure series slated to be filmed this fall. Post the wrap-up of “The Chosen,” Jenkins plans to write, direct, and showrun a three-season series based on the life of Moses for his next flagship project.

In the forthcoming years, “The Chosen” Season 6 will delve into the story of the Crucifixion, while Season 7 will explore Jesus’ Resurrection. Both seasons will comprise eight episodes each and include a global theatrical release of extended Crucifixion and Resurrection episodes.
