Next October marks the 50th anniversary of the very first episode of Saturday Night Live. The celebrations for this milestone began months ago with the premiere of season 50 and the release of “Saturday Night” in September. The festivities will continue into the new year with the introduction of the four-part docuseries SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night and the announcement of the feature-length documentary “Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music.”
