Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo is adamant that the federal authorities targeted the music mogul to bring down a successful Black man. In a recent interview, Agnifilo spoke out about the case, suggesting that racism may have played a role in Diddy’s legal troubles.
Insight from Diddy’s Attorney
On Sept. 26, TMZ released a clip of their interview with Agnifilo, featured in the documentary The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment. During the interview, Agnifilo expressed his belief that racism was a factor in the case against Diddy.
“Let’s shift our focus to the government. In my opinion, historically, they have not been supportive of successful Black men,” Agnifilo stated in the video. “It seems like they are targeting a successful Black man with this case.”
He continued, “The government is examining his businesses, his taxes, everything. His businesses are in order, he pays his taxes. So, what’s left? They want to invade his privacy, maybe because they don’t approve of his personal life.”
Agnifilo has been vocal about Diddy’s case since the music mogul’s arrest and indictment for sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation for prostitution. Many of his statements have come from the documentary interview. Recently, Agnifilo made headlines for defending Diddy’s possession of 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lube found during a raid on his properties in March.
