Hall had nothing but praise for her co-star Anna Faris, saying, “Anna is fantastic,” after learning that Faris had stated earlier in the year that she would only be open to returning if she could share the scene with her.

Hall further elaborated, “I’m filled with excitement knowing that the Wayans, the brains behind the original project, are back in charge. I’m thrilled for them. It remains to be seen if Brenda will be part of this new chapter. The thought of the entire team reuniting is incredibly exciting. That would indeed be a lot of fun.”

In April 2024, Faris responded to Paramount’s announcement about their collaboration with producer Neal H. Moritz to reboot the comedic horror series. The production was due to start in the fall, with a proposed theatrical release set for the following spring via Paramount’s first-look partnership with Miramax.

It wasn’t until the previous month that Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans confirmed their involvement in the reboot. The first Scary Movie film, released in 2000, was directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and co-written by his brothers. The project is now set to begin filming in 2025 and will be released through Miramax and Paramount.

Marlon took to Instagram to announce, “Last week, I teased a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT. Well, here it is… WE’RE BACK!!! After almost 20 years, the Wayans brothers are finally delivering what the fans have been longing for… a return to the SCARY MOVIE franchise! We can’t wait to bring the humor back to the big screen,”.
