Prior to his death, the Atlanta rapper had 1,877,229 monthly listeners on the platform. However, that number has now surged to 3,317,009. The before and after screenshots can be viewed below.
Rich Homie Quan tragically passed away on Sept. 5 at his Atlanta home. While the cause of his death has not been disclosed, his family and the Fulton County morgue representative have confirmed the news. His family is devastated by the loss, and he is survived by his four children.
In 2013, Rich Homie Quan gained recognition with his song “Differences,” which was the lead single from his debut mixtape, Still Goin In. He further solidified his place in the music industry by touring with Trinidad James and appearing on Gucci Mane’s Trap House III. His single “Type of Way” became a hit, propelling him to be recognized as one of Atlanta’s emerging stars alongside artists like Future and Young Thug.
“Type of Way” climbed to No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and his subsequent release, Still Goin In (Reloaded), helped establish him as an artist to watch. Rich Homie Quan was also selected as part of the 2014 XXL Freshman Class. His track “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Rich Homie Quan’s Unreleased Music Project
Rich Homie Quan’s father, Corey Lamar, revealed in a recent interview that his son had completed a 25-song project before his untimely death. In an exclusive interview with WSB-TV journalist Michael Seiden on Sept. 7, Lamar, who also served as his son’s manager, discussed the rapper’s plans for new music.
“We had just finished a 20 or 25-song project, and we were in the process of scheduling two video shoots for our project,” Lamar shared with Seiden.
Lamar also disclosed that Rich Homie Quan had a substantial collection of unreleased songs stored away.
“Quan likely has over 2,000 unreleased songs,” Lamar revealed. “However, once he moves on to recording new material, the older songs become outdated to him.”
“He has an extensive catalog of music that his fans deserve to hear,” Lamar emphasized.
