Sean Combs has been arrested in New York City following an indictment by a federal grand jury.
Charges Against Diddy
The rap artist faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, coercion, and transportation for prostitution.
A representative informed Sky News that Diddy was taken into custody by officers at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan on Monday, September 16, based on a sealed indictment.
Allegations from the Indictment
It is alleged in the indictment that Diddy established a criminal enterprise involved in various crimes, including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.
The 14-page indictment accuses Combs of using verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse against victims. Additionally, it claims he controlled the victims through various means, such as distributing narcotics, managing their careers, leveraging financial support, and resorting to intimidation and violence.
In response, his lawyer conveyed disappointment with the prosecution, emphasizing Diddy’s cooperation and innocence, stating that these allegations do not reflect his true character.
Legal Proceedings
The arrest was confirmed by Damian Williams, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, with more details expected to be disclosed following the unsealing of the indictment.
