Published:

The drama-filled reality series, The Real Housewives Of Potomac, is making a comeback on the silver screen. The trailer for the anticipated ninth season has been released, revealing new faces, hinting at fresh conflicts, and confirming a premiere date of Oct. 6, 2024.

In the upcoming season, we welcome new housewives Stacey Rusch and Keiarna Stewart, who will be joining the existing cast of Karen Huger, Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Wendy Osefo, and Mia Thornton. Jacqueline Blake makes a return, and Jassi Rideaux is introduced as a friend of the housewives.

Stacey Rusch, a former host on QVC and a mother to an 8-year-old, is currently navigating through a divorce after 16 years of marriage. As per a press release, she is grappling with the idea of dating again and managing a romantic relationship with her best friend, who has chosen celibacy over intimacy.

Keiarna Stewart, on the other hand, aspires to foster relationships with her fellow cast members, manage her business, launch a skincare line, and fortify her relationship with her partner Gregory as they embark on the journey of living together.

The season kickstarts with the aftermath of Karen Huger’s car accident in March 2024 and her subsequent DUI charge. The series explores the impact of this incident on Karen and her family. While she tries to recover from the incident, the rest of the housewives are keen on learning the entire truth behind the incident.

Meanwhile, the ninth season sees Bryant focusing on dating and paying tribute to her late father, Darby moving on from her divorce, Osefo embarking on a new journey, and Thornton fostering a new relationship as she distances herself from her past.

However, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Nneka Ihim, and Robyn Dixon will be absent from the RHOP’s upcoming debut. Dillard Basset announced in March that she had decided to take a hiatus from RHOP, stating it’s not a goodbye, but a ‘see you later.’ Soon after, she revealed her pregnancy news.

She has been a part of the reality series since its third season.

Dixon confirmed that the network did not invite her back, thereby validating the rumors of her exit from the franchise in April.

She stated, “The reality is, the network did not invite me back. I was fired, for lack of a better term. I will not sugarcoat the situation and say, ‘Oh, I am walking away and this is a break’ or anything like this. This was a network decision,” Dixon detailed at the time.

In a statement to PEOPLE Magazine, Nneka Ihim attributed her departure after a single season to her focus on building her family. The series had highlighted her struggles with fertility and her journey with intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF).

She stated, “I will not be returning for season 9 of RHOP. As a true resident of Potomac proper, 20854, just know that I’ll be seeing you all again soon.”

“The Real Housewives of Potomac” is produced by Truly Original. The executive producers include Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh, Lauren Eskelin, Lorraine Haughton-Lawson, Nora Devin Zimmerman, and Leola Westbrook-Lawrence. Jackie Hebert, Nick Prescott, and EJ Dutton serve as co-executive producers, with Andy Cohen also being an executive producer.
