The life of Steve Harvey is set to be depicted on the big screen. A biographical film is in the pipeline that will delve into a crucial juncture in the early career of the comedian, as reported by Deadline. The movie, named Seventy-Two, is designed to reenact a pivotal 72-hour phase leading up to Harvey’s career-changing performance at the iconic Apollo Theatre in 1993.
Deadline reports that the producers of this film will comprise of Mohamed Kheir and Matthew R. Cooper from Objectively Good Media, who conceived and proposed the concept to the now 67-year-old Harvey. The project has not yet been assigned a writer.
“For years, I was hesitant to make a movie about my life, until I came across the pitch for Seventy-Two,” explained the representative from Cleveland. “This film focuses on one of the most challenging times in my journey and career, and it demonstrates to the world that hope is never truly lost. You will be amazed by what we do with this.”

The film’s focal point is a moment when Harvey, aged 36 and a decade after leaving his conventional job for a career in comedy, grapples with a period of self-doubt and personal challenges, according to Deadline.

Steve Harvey’s capacity to transform his adversities into victories is inspiring, and Seventy-Two will highlight the resilience and determination that shaped those crucial days. We are excited to share this compelling narrative with audiences all over the world,” Kheir detailed.
Having been one of the Original Kings Of Comedy, his tenacity has yielded results, with a celebrated career as an actor, stand-up artist, host, and author, bagging seven Daytime Emmy Awards, a BET humanitarian award, and fourteen NAACP Image Awards among a plethora of honors and credits.
