“Shazam!” Star Zachary Levi Faces Internet Backlash for Trump Endorsement: Top Reactions

In today’s episode of WTF Is Going On, we spotlight Zachary Levi, another celebrity making waves with his political statements.

Most people remember Levi as the star of the Shazam! movies. However, his acting portfolio also includes roles in Chuck, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Thor: Ragnarok, and various Broadway musicals. He was also the voice behind Flynn Rider in Disney’s Tangled.

Levi recently attended a Trump rally in Michigan, where he joined a conversation with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former US representative Tulsi Gabbard. He took a moment to explain his presence, saying, “I did just wanna just give you a little context about why Shazam is sitting here talking to you about these various things.” He mentioned his upbringing in a Christian conservative family that transitioned from being Kennedy Democrats to Reagan Republicans, and how they instilled in him a healthy level of distrust for the government and unchecked industries.

Levi referred to Kennedy as “the real deal” and admitted that he would have likely voted for him in an ideal world. However, Kennedy recently withdrew his presidential bid and has since endorsed Trump.

“We’re here to make sure that we are going to take back this country, we are going to make it great again, we are going to make it healthy again,” Zachary continued. “I do believe, that of the two choices that we have — and we only have two — Donald Trump, President Trump is the man that can get us there. And he’s gonna get us there because he’s gonna have the backing and the support and the wisdom and the knowledge and the fight that exists in Robert Kennedy Jr. and former representative Tulsi Gabbard.”
