DONALD TRUMP
Shooting-Attempt Suspect Son Speaks Out …
MY FATHER HATES TRUMP
The son of the man suspected of attempting to assassinate Donald Trump says his father hates the former president but is shocked because his dad isn’t a violent person.
Ryan Wesley Routh‘s son, Oran, spoke with the Daily Mail, stating that his father hates Trump like “every reasonable person does.” Oran also isn’t a fan of the former president but was surprised to learn that his dad is the gunman who allegedly targeted Trump at a Florida golf club on Sunday.
Oran mentioned that to his knowledge, his father’s previous encounters with the law only involved a few traffic tickets, which was far from the truth.
In 2002, Ryan Routh was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon of mass destruction, specifically a fully automatic machine gun. This incident followed a 3-hour standoff with police when he barricaded himself inside a roofing business in Greensboro, NC.
Ryan, who reportedly has been residing in Hawaii, has had multiple run-ins with the police in recent years, including being evicted from a property due to alleged squatting in 2019.
Ryan Routh is known to be a staunch supporter of Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. He even traveled to Kyiv in 2022, where he tried to connect foreigners with military units and aid groups.
In an interview with Newsweek, Routh expressed why he felt compelled to go to Ukraine, stating, “To me, a lot of the other conflicts are gray, but this conflict is definitely black and white. This is about good versus evil.”
Ryan has criticized Trump multiple times on social media. A post from his now-suspended account in June 2020 expressed, “I will be glad when you gone,” after previously supporting Trump in 2016.
Routh has ties to the Democratic Party, having voted in North Carolina’s Democratic primary in 2024 and making small contributions to the Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue. However, he has also reportedly supported Republican presidential primary candidates Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy.
