Studiocanal Scores European TV and SVOD Rights for ‘Megalopolis’

In a recent development of events, Studiocanal has acquired the TV rights and SVOD for Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” in Europe. The exclusive rights will span a period of seven years.

However, the agreement clearly excludes specific geographical regions. It does not apply to Spain, Russia, and Pay 1 in France. The movie “Megalopolis” was premiered in France by Le Pacte, a film distributor, on the 25th of September. It has since been viewed in cinemas by fewer than 250,000 people.

Studiocanal boasts of an elaborate film library, regarded as the most extensive in Europe. The collection includes some of Coppola’s iconic pieces like “The Conversation,” “One From The Heart,” “The Outsiders,” and “Apocalypse Now.”

Each of these classics has undergone thorough restoration by the Zoetrope – Coppola’s film production company, and the Studiocanal crew under Coppola’s supervision. “Apocalypse Now: The Final Cut” was released in 2019 and subsequently showcased at the Tribeca film center.

Also, “The Outsiders: The Complete Novel,” was released in 2021, its first premiere held at San Sebastian.
