In their forthcoming comedy film, Keke Palmer and SZA are seen hustling and scheming to dodge eviction. The movie, One Of Them Days, is a production by Issa Rae under the banner of Hoorae Media, penned by Syreeta Singleton and directed by Lawrence Lamont.
The trailer unveils the two protagonists as financially struggling best friends residing in Los Angeles, harboring dreams that go beyond their paycheck-to-paycheck existence. Scheduled to hit the theaters on Jan. 24, 2025, the film also stars Janelle James, Lil Rel Howery, Katt Williams, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, Gabrielle Dennis, DomiNque Perry, Patrick Cage, and Amin Joseph.
The trailer clip features Keke Palmer voicing her concern, “How are we gonna make $1,500 by 6, not to mention I got the interview at 4?” giving the audience a glimpse of her and SZA’s humorous attempts to gather the money by any means possible. One Of Them Nights marks the debut of the R&B singer in a feature film.
Sony Pictures
The movie was initially announced in April of the current year with sparse details. The theatrical release date was confirmed last month. One Of Them Days is a result of the collaboration between ColorCreative and Sony Pictures under the CoCre lab, aiming to encourage upcoming, diverse screenwriters to create and pen their first studio feature based on original concepts, according to Variety.
Here’s the official description of the film:
“Dreux (Keke Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA), best friends and roommates, are about to experience One of Them Days. Upon learning that Alyssa’s boyfriend has squandered their rent money, the pair find themselves resorting to extremes in a humorous race against time to prevent eviction and preserve their friendship.“
