The Belgian-Egyptian musician Tamino is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated third studio album, Every Dawn’s a Mountain, scheduled to drop on March 31. The announcement of the record coincides with the debut of the album’s first single, “Babylon,” which was performed in one take from the top of a building in New York City, captured in a mesmerizing live performance video.

“Babylon” is just one of the 10 tracks that will be featured on Every Dawn’s a Mountain, with most of the songs penned after Tamino’s relocation to New York and during his tour with Mitski earlier this year. The acclaimed singer-songwriter will also collaborate with another artist on the album, featuring on the duet “Sanctuary.”
Recording the album presented its challenges in capturing the right emotions. Tamino expressed, “I’ve never really approached music conceptually. Usually, songwriting feels more like carving away into a self-revealing sculpture rather than carefully implementing a pre-existing blueprint. After recent life events, however, I felt a strong need to create a metaphysical tribute to what was lost. The end result, though eclectic at times, feels like my most cohesive work to date, with all 10 songs connected by a theme of honoring and letting go.”
After the album’s release in March, Tamino will kick off a headlining tour across North America, with stops in cities like San Diego, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Montreal, Brooklyn, and Philadelphia. General ticket sales for the tour will commence on Friday, October 18 at 10 a.m. local time.
Every Dawn’s a Mountain marks Tamino’s first full-length album since 2022’s Sahar. Reflecting on the creative process, he shared, “Just as fire can erupt with great force, most of these songs seemed to burst their way into existence. Unabashedly and without warning, they demanded my attention and set the tone for my days. They say the faster the flame burns, the harder it is to catch.”
