Dead at 72
… After ALS Battle
Waymond Lee, an actor best known for appearing in Comedy Central’s “Workaholics,” has passed away at the age of 72 after battling ALS, according to TMZ.
Norine Lee, Waymond’s sister, and his wife, Diane, revealed that he lost his life on Wednesday, Dec. 18, due to complications from ALS, a neurological disorder affecting nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Waymond’s diagnosis began with a degenerative brain disease in late October, but further tests in early December confirmed the presence of ALS. He returned home for a brief period but had to be hospitalized due to breathing and swallowing difficulties.
He spent less than a week in the hospital before passing away, with his wife by his side. Described as a “soft-hearted” and “sentimental” individual, Waymond was dedicated to his acting career and never shied away from hard work.
Known for his role as Waymond/Old Way Way on “Workaholics” alongside Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine, Anders Holm, and Jillian Bell, Waymond also had credits in various films and TV shows like “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “Zombie Apocalypse,” “The Thundermans,” “Other People,” “Veep,” and “The Cleaning Lady.”
