A witness set to testify in the Young Thug YSL RICO trial is claiming that taking the stand could be life-threatening due to his illness.
Witness in YSL Trial Warns Testifying Could Be Fatal
During Day 132 of the Young Thug YSL trial at Fulton County Superior Court on September 18, the court heard from a man’s attorney who expressed concerns about his client’s health. The attorney explained that the witness has been hospitalized and is currently on strong medication, stating that the stress of testifying could potentially result in a life-threatening situation for him.
“He’s in a precarious situation where any stress could lead to a medical crisis, possibly sending him back to the hospital,” the attorney informed Judge Paige Reese Whitaker. “I spoke to him, and he mentioned that he struggles to remember recent events, indicating the severity of his condition.”
Lead prosecutor Adrienne Love disputed the attorney’s claims, citing a conversation with the witness’s doctor who deemed him fit to testify. Despite this, Judge Whitaker ruled that the witness should take the stand, with a medical team on standby. However, the attorney reiterated the potential risks involved for his client.
“That’s all well and good, but it’s crucial for the court to understand that placing him in a crisis situation could have fatal consequences,” the attorney emphasized.
YSL RICO Trial Progresses Slowly
The YSL RICO trial has already made history as the longest trial in Georgia, and it shows no signs of wrapping up soon. Notably, key prosecution witness YSL Woody played a significant role in recent proceedings. Despite previously providing information about Young Thug to law enforcement, he appeared reluctant to incriminate Thugger during his testimony. At one point, he even admitted to fabricating details about Thug in past interactions with authorities to avoid further scrutiny.
